Secrets Exposed : The Ultimate Winter Tip

Friday, June 17, 2011

As an interstate removalist I always started early in the morning so I could do as many hours in the day as possible. Words from a workaholic. It wasn’t uncommon to leave the house many mornings around 5:30 am.

In Adelaide in the dead middle of winter this normally meant I would have frost forming on my nose before I reached the car, when I reached the car like most of us I had to plead with the heavens to get my car heater warm as quickly as possible. Rubbing my hands together in a desperate attempt to avoid frost bite and gain some sort of friction based heat I would be rubbing them together so fast I could impress the average garden cricket. Then finally when the heater started to fire up I began my instant body heating ritual, I would pull my long sleeves down right over my hands and over the ends of my fingers, then carefully I would spread my fingers out as wide as possible which would open up the end of my long sleeves almost like a funnel. Then once I had a nice even edge of jumper material running around my finger tips I would cover one heater duct with each hand sealing them against the dashboard. With the heater on high this forces heat up through your jumper around your arms all the way up and straight onto your body around your chest, this is nothing short of divine when you are freezing.

Try it, you will be glad you did.

Competitors losing all of their workers

Friday, June 10, 2011

Not only do we win most of the work in Adelaide but because we are such a great company we get all the workers too! An unnamed and very reputable removalist company have lost 3 of their best lads to us in the last 3 months and are constantly calling them up to try and get them back, but once the boys wear green they won’t look back! Job satisfaction is imperative to a quality operation!

Your Friendly Local “Hardcore” Moving Guys?

Friday, June 3, 2011

Alex, our interstate moving salesman took a few hours off on Monday to go to his dentist in Glenelg and get 3 fillings. When the dentist lent in to give Alex the anaesthetic he was cut off with a surprising comment that went something like this “no thanks Doc, no need for that stuff……I am going back to work after this and I don’t want some unnecessary anaesthetic to affect my ability to sell to my clients”. I like your style Alex.

So it would appear that not only are our removalists in the trucks Hardcore but our pen pushers are too. Give Alex a call today about your upcoming move!

How’s the weather in Sydney?

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

A client commented the other day about how hot the summer has been over in Sydney thus far this year. Glenn…our new knight in shining armour for people moving interstate laughed thinking this summer in Adelaide has been the best in 10 years. And he is right if you don’t factor in the 45 degrees week long heatwave that may be just around the corner. Heads up all you Adelaide removalists, your truck pans may be large grillers before you know it. Oooops I may have jinxed us now

Moving away from Adelaide

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

It seems to be the trend these days. It always makes me wonder why so many people move away from Adelaide and so few move to Adelaide. Take Melbourne for instance. we are almost always full going to Melbourne but have trouble getting furntiure removals coming back. I wonder if Adelaide doesnt provide the same opportunity as some of the other states or if it was the drought that makes poeple worry about the future. It is a known fact that Adelaide is an aging city, meaning that the younger population are moving away and the older generations are just getting older. I pose this question, what can South Australia’s government do to stop its youth and its future moving away??? And my second question is If they do nothing, what does the future hold for Adelaide…..the festival state. Or the city of churches.

One’s got to question why mother natures getting serious?

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

I have to start this post by saying I am a huge advocate for Global Warming and have been for many years. When I share my feelings about my beliefs with Global Warming it is always met with disagreements and protests. For some reason a large portion of the population still believes that it doesn’t exist and its just another multi – billion dollar industry that has been cooked up. From where I stand…..unfortunately these people will only realise the truth and facts when its too late to do anything about. As a removalist in Adelaide for over a decade I saw the climate change every year and noticed it clearly working out in open spaces and in a hot pantech truck.  Adelaide is a place where you really can notice it because of the extremities. Extremely hot and dry or ultra cold and wet. But the seasons seem to mix together more now and are far less predictable….and extreme.

You can say El Nino or LA Nina until your blue in the face to me, I see human damage on a mass scale to a fragile natural balance that took many millions of years to find its sweet spot.  How I see it…… if we don’t want to change our ways we need to accept Extreme whether as the way of the future and suck it up. But that’s just my opinion. I have another question for thought for all of those non believers….”if global warming is just fiction, why do we need to wait for signs or evidence of serious damage before we start to take more care”?

Moving from Melbourne to Adelaide?

It works out cheaper than from Adelaide to Melbourne. This is just a generalisation but most of the time your goods can be loaded in Melbourne on any Sunday, driven back to Adelaide on the Monday and then Unloaded on the Tuesday. The crucial part of your preparation is to make sure you pack anything that can go into a Box into a box. Boxes make your items safe, make packing the furniture into the truck easier and reduce handling. For the small cost of boxes they are truely worth their weight in gold. Ask our friendly and helpful staff what kind of deal they can do on your boxes. You may time it well for one of our specials….
